UN-approved, DOT-compliant pharmaceutical waste containers — blue-lid for non-hazardous medications, yellow-lid for RCRA hazardous drugs, combination sharps/pharma units — delivered to your South Florida facility.
The foundation of any compliant pharmaceutical waste program is proper container selection and segregation at the point of generation. Using the wrong container — or mixing waste streams — is one of the most common compliance failures observed during EPA, FDOH, and Florida DEP inspections. Color-coded, UN-approved containers make segregation intuitive and defensible.
We deliver and service a complete range of pharmaceutical waste containers for every setting and waste volume. Blue-lid containers (non-hazardous medications) and yellow-lid containers (RCRA hazardous drugs) are the primary distinction required by EPA's 2019 Hazardous Waste Pharmaceuticals Rule. Combination units that accept both sharps and non-controlled medications are popular in clinic and hospital settings.
All containers we provide meet UN performance specifications for pharmaceutical waste (UN packaging marks) and DOT 49 CFR requirements for ground transport. Containers are delivered to your facility, placed at designated collection points, and exchanged at every scheduled pickup — providing a continuous, closed-loop program with no disruption to your operations.
Secure mail-back programs are available for satellite offices, home health agencies, and small generators who need compliant pharmaceutical waste disposal without a recurring scheduled pickup. Mail-back units are pre-labeled, pre-manifested, and shipped to a permitted treatment facility when full.

We offer containers ranging from 0.5-gallon desktop boxes (for single-provider offices and exam rooms) to 1-gallon, 2-gallon, and 5-gallon countertop units (clinics and pharmacies) to 10-gallon and 14-gallon floor-standing units (hospital departments and high-volume pharmacies). Our team recommends sizes based on your waste volume during the initial assessment.
Blue-lid containers are for non-hazardous pharmaceutical waste: OTC drugs, vitamins, supplements, and non-RCRA prescription medications. Yellow-lid containers are for RCRA hazardous pharmaceutical waste: P-listed drugs (warfarin ≥0.3%, nicotine, phentermine) and U-listed hazardous pharmaceuticals. The EPA's 2019 Hazardous Waste Pharmaceuticals Rule requires this segregation.
Combination containers accept both used sharps (needles, lancets, syringes) and unwanted medications in a single unit — ideal for settings where both waste types are generated in the same area, such as patient exam rooms or nursing stations. These containers reduce the number of collection units needed and simplify waste management for clinical staff.
A mail-back program provides pre-labeled, pre-manifested containers that are shipped to a licensed treatment facility when full. They are ideal for home health agencies, small clinics with low pharmaceutical waste volumes, and satellite offices. No scheduled pickup is required — when the container is full, you mail it using the pre-paid shipping label.
Our team conducts a free pharmaceutical waste classification assessment for your facility. We review your formulary or medication list, identify RCRA-listed drugs in your inventory, assess your waste volume, and recommend the correct container types and sizes — ensuring your program is compliant from the first pickup.
